  It is unclear what happened to John and Mary after their marriage as they do not appear to have had any children or appear in any censuses.  By this time John’s brother Edward had emigrated to Michigan, US and they possibly may have decided to also emigrate somewhere.  Another possibility is that Mary may have died and there is an interesting burial record for Elizabeth Williams in July 1855 (age 34) at Trevor Issa , not far from Chirk.  John, however, was still alive as he is recorded as being at Crymbal about 1866/7 when he had a relationship with Emma Jones from Gyfelia (near Crymbal) that resulted in the birth of a son  - details below.
