Have been unable to find any further records for Esther and it is possible that she moved away from the Chirk area to make a fresh start. Her parents were originally from Warrington where all her siblings were born and she may have had connections there. A marriage took place at St Elphin, Warrington in 1819 involving an Esther Holland (see below) but she did not sign her own name – if this is our Esther Holland, she would be the first of her siblings unable to sign at their marriage. |
1819 Possible Marriage licence bond issued 5.04.1819 for marriage on 6.04.1819 at St Elphin, Warrington between William Wright (widower) and Esther Holland (spinster), both of this parish. (both made mark) |
It is not known where Rachel Holland spent her childhood but she is living in the Chirk / Llangollen area at the time of the 1841 census where she is recorded as a ‘Female Servant’ in Trevor Ucha (Froncysyllte). She then marries John Wynne Minshall (marriage record not found) and the 1851 and 1861 censuses show them living in Trevor Issa with their four daughters. |
