Children *Louisa W Jones (b. abt 1868). This 1881 census entry is the only record suggesting William and Lucy had a daughter. It is likely that the enumerator made a mistake believing her to be their daughter and listed her with surname Jones. The most likely explanation is that she is Louisa Williams, the youngest sister of Ann Elizabeth Williams who was the wife of Edgar Jackson Jones. Louisa was very young when her father died and only 8 years old when her mother died in 1876. It would be nice to think that William and Lucy looked after her for a while and treated her as their daughter but the census only records who was at that house on one particular day. |
